Moments in Time
For the better part of 50 years, I've been a working professional photographer. I cut my photographic teeth in high school... in 1976. Through the years, I have had the privilege of shooting just about every type of photography there is... with the possible exception of scientific.
What I have come to realize in that time is that if we are good, retail photographers (weddings, portraits, etc.) are nothing more nor less than historians. We capture moments in time. Our superpower is that we actually make time stand still. We give memories visibility.
I've always considered this a rather sacred responsibility... after all, our natural memories fade over time... things that were once bright, slowly dim over time, until one day, they may disappear altogether.
With images, however, those moments in time can stay vibrant, bright, sharp, and crystal clear forever. That's why I take my role in this process very seriously.
